SIDBI Officer Syllabus 2018

The written test will be conducted online. There is an objective type as well as descriptive type test for these posts.
There will be 200 questions & 5 sections in the objective examination with 2 hour duration. The descriptive test will be of 45 minutes duration and candidates have to type the answers on the computer.

SIDBI Exam Pattern 2018

All tests, except test of English Language and Descriptive Paper will be provided in English and Hindi. You
can attempt any objective question at any point of time within 120 minutes. All the objective questions will
have multiple choices. Out of the five answers to a question only one will be the correct answer. You have
to select the most appropriate answer and ‘mouse click’ that alternative which you feel is appropriate/
correct. The alternative/ option that you have clicked on will be treated as your answer to that
question. There will be penalty for wrong answers marked by you. For every wrong answer marked
by you, 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.
Descriptive paper will be provided only in English. Descriptive questions will be displayed on the
screen of your computer. Answers are to be typed using the keyboard. Before start of typing answers
to questions in Descriptive Paper please check all key functions of the keyboard. You will get
45 minutes to answer the questions.

SIDBI Officer Syllabus 2018 (section-wise)

The total marks of the examination will be 250 which includes 50 marks of the English Descriptive
Section. Candidates will be shortlisted for Interview on the basis of overall marks scored in objective
and descriptive section taken together against full marks of 250.
Reasoning Section:
Note: The number given in Brackets are the number of questions usually asked in exam (based on previous year pattern).
This section will have question on following topics.
Verbal reasoning: Series, Analogy. Odds, Classification, Syllogism, Coding-decoding, Blood relations. Number, ranking and time sequence, Analytic reasoning, Direction sense test. Sitting arrangement, Decision making, Input output, Puzzle, Statement and conclusions. Assumptions, Statement and arguments, Statement and action’s courses. Passage and conclusions, Assertion and reasoning, Figure Series, Word formation, Series.

2. Quantitative Aptitude Syllabus:
Topics are - Number system, HCF & LCM, Number series, Problems based on numbers. Approximation Wrong Number, Decimal fractions, Square root and cube root, Simplifications. Partnerships, Percentage, Ratio and proportions, Average & Ages Ratio & Proportion]: Profit and loss, Simple interest and compound interest, [Time and work, Time and distance, Mensuration]: Permutation and combination (1-2), Probability
Data Interpretation: Charts and graphs.

This test is designed to measure how fast and accurate you are in dealing with numbers, viz. computation,
quantitative reasoning, interpretation of tables and graphs.

is missing is shown by a question mark (?). You have to find out which one of the answers shown
against 1, 2, 3 and 4 can replace the question mark. If none of these four can replace the question

3. English language section
Topics of this section are - Spotting the errors, Phrase substitution, Ordering of sentences or jumbled up sentences. Double blanks in a sentence, Fill in the blanks. Cloze Test, Idioms & Phrases, Choosing the appropriate filler. Synonyms and antonyms, Reconstruction of sentence & passage. One word substitution, Commonly misspelled words, Comprehensions.
This is a test to see how well you know English. Your English language ability would be tested through
questions on grammar & vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, sentence completion, comprehension of a passage
Q.1-2. Read each sentence to find out whether there is any grammatical or idiomatic error in it. The error,
if any, will be in one part of the sentence. The number of that part is the answer. If there is no error,
the answer is ‘5’. (Ignore the errors of punctuation, if any).

This test is designed to measure your awareness about the past and present events.
