SSC CGL Selection Process Tier 1, 2, 3 Exam Details

SSC CGL Selection Procedure: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts examination for combined graduate level (CGL) every year and its notification usually comes in January. The SSC selection procedure and selection criteria for SSC CGL is given below. Combined Graduate Level examination is conducted for the selection of eligible candidates for filling vacancies in various government departments of India. The posts included are Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors, Auditors, Compilers, statistical investigators, assistants etc.


The selection procedure of candidates for the above said posts includes written examination followed by Interview for interview posts and Skill Test for those non interview posts for which skill test is prescribed.
Also those candidates who have chosen assistants posts as their preference will have to pass a Computer Proficiency Test. Document verification of the candidates is done after the written examination of successful candidates. So the successful candidates in written (Objective Type) examination will undergo Interview /Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test with document verification wherever applicable and the descriptive/on-line test.

SSC CGL examination is conducted in three tiers. Tier 1 and Tier 2 includes objective type examination while tier 3 consists of Interview /Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test with document verification.
SSC conducts Combined Graduate Level Examination 2015 Tier 1. The selection criteria for above said posts is based on written examination and interview/skill test/cpt/document verification. The candidates are selected based on their Marks in all the three tiers.
So the selection of the candidates is done on the basis of performance in Tier I and Tier II and Tier III.
After successful completion of all tiers, SSC will draw up the All India Merit List against each category of post/State for those candidates who have qualified in the descriptive /on-line test. Successful candidates are given appointment based on their merit and post preference filled by them.
